Weir Schloarship

This year’s deadline for Weir applications is March 6, 2013. We found out
about this scholarship three days before the 2009 deadline date – we
quickly put an application packet together and overnighted it (and this was
the first scholarship Erica was applying for, so we put all the info
together ‘from scratch’). Yes, the current deadline is near, but it can be
done.

The most unique criteria of Weir is that the student must be an employee or
a dependent child of an employee of a Georgia golf course served by a pro
who is a member of the Georgia Section of the PGA of America.

Even if you do not have a student who qualifies this year, I would urge you
to make your rising seniors aware of this scholarship. A junior who is
aware of this may choose to find a job at a golf course with the specific
intent of applying for Weir when he/she is a senior. The student does not
have to be a golfer – there are many types of jobs at golf course
facilities for boys and girls – from concessions to course maintenance to
shop help, etc.

You don’t know me, so I appreciate your time to read this. Our family has
been immeasurably blessed by the Weir Scholarship and we want other
deserving students to know that this may be an option for them as well.
Thank you for sharing this information with your students and parents.

If you have questions, please feel free to call or email. And please
feel free to forward this email to anyone you think could benefit from the
information. Thanks so much.
