National Youth Leadership Forum: Medicine (Not a Scholarship)

Students in this program will have the opportunity to select any of the exciting nine-day programs offered next summer in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los angeles, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, New York City, Raleigh-Durham, San Francisco, or Washington DC.

Forum students have also had the opportunity to learn from distinguished medical leaders and research pioneers -  visionaries and practitioners whose dedication and ability have brought them to the pinnacle of their profession.

By attending NYLF Medicine, qualifying students may also receive college credit through George Mason University.

Nominees who require financial assistance may access an online, interactive fundraising guide. This guide is designed to help students raise funds in order to earn tuition for the program Envision also awares a limited number of partial scholarships based on financial need, scholastic merit, leadership achievement, and other factors.

2014-2015 Bobby Dodd Scholarship for Outstanding Community Service

This scholarship is awarded to physically challenged students who have an outstanding record of community service.


  • First place scholarship award is $1,200. The first runner-up will be awarded $800
  • Applications must be postmarked on or before January 31, 2015
  • Recipients will be notified on March 30, 2015

Application Requirements

  • Cover sheet
  • 500-word essay reflecting community activities and how these experiences prepared you for life, as well as why community service is important
  • Detailed list of community service activities occuring within the last two years
  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Copy of applicant's transcripts including a statement of explanation
  • Brief description of disability and the challenges it has presented
  • Statement of financial need

2014-2015 Alice Dodd Scholarsship for Outstanding Community Service

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a Georgia high school senior who has an outstanding record of community service in pursuing his/her education objectives.


  • First place award is $1,200. The first runner-up will be awarded $800

  • Must submit digitized images via electronic entry form by Jan 16th, then ship/deliver the work to Brenau after notification of acceptance
  • Event will take place on Feb. 16

Savannah College of Art and Design Distinguished Scholars Award


  • Awards $20,000 per year for any student attending SCAD
  • Eligibility
    • Minimum 1220 SAT math and critical reading combined or 27 ACT composite
    • 3.75 minimum GPA
    • Outstanding visual arts, performing arts, or writing capabilities
    • Honors and awards from competitions
    • Leadership skills
    • Must apply to SCAD
  • Must be nominated by a counselor or teacher
    • Talk to your teacher or counselor about a nomination.
  • Deadline for nominations is February 15th.

Cornerstone Academic Scholarship


  • Deadline to apply is December 31st, 2014
  • Eligibility:
    • Enrolled full time in a high school
    • GPA of at least 2.0
    • Plan to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college immediately after high school
    • Complete the application
  • Three scholarships available:
    • 1st- $2,000
    • 2nd- $1,000

Bezos Scholars Program


  • This program offers an opportunity for high school students to participate in a year long leadership development program. 
  • Apply online by February 17, 2015
  • The program kicks off at the Aspen Ideas Festival with guest speakers and leadership seminars. 
  • Scholars can then return home and inspire change throughout their community.

Legacy Student Scholarship


  • This scholarship is to honor the legacy of past and present board members and employees who have served the Peach State Federal Credit Union for 20 years or more. 
  • Awarded to seniors who plan to pursue an education degree in college and return to teach in Georgia
  • Application materials
    • SAT or ACT scores
    • copy of transcript
    • 2 page, double spaced, typed essay expressing why you want to teach
    • 2 letters of reference: one from a teacher, one from a counselor/administrator
