Peach State Federal Credit Union Rick Cost Student Scholarship

Earn a $2,500 scholarship!

This scholarship is in honor of Rick Cost, retired Chief Financial Officer at Gwinnett County Public Schools, for his contributions to the Gwinnett County school system. It will be awarded to a Gwinnett County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education. All scholarship winners will be chosen by the end of April 2017 and notified shortly thereafter.

  • two letters or reference; one from a teacher and one from an administrator or counselor in your current high school who can attest to your potential as a prospective education major.

RMHC U.S. Scholarships

Students across the country work hard to earn top marks, dreaming of the college they'll attend and the education they'll receive. Unfortunately, many of these won't be able to afford it. We want these students to reach their full potential. To help them accomplish this, our network of U.S. chapters, along with the global office of RMHC, offer scholarships to students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. Since 1985, more than $60 million in scholarships have been awarded.

     Applicants will be notified of scholarship award status by June 16, 2017.


Scholarhships availible 

  1. RMHC/Scholars: All students are eligible to apply regardless of race, sex, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin
  2. RMHC/Asia: Applicant must have at least one parent of Asian-Pacific heritage
  3. RMHC/African-American Future Achievers: Applicant must have at least one parent of African American or Black Caribbean heritage 
  4. RMHC/HACER®: Applicant must have at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino heritage

General Eligibility Requirements
  • Be a high school senior
  • Be younger than 21 years old
  • Be eligible to attend a two or four year college, university, or technical school with a full course of study
  • Be a legal U.S. resident
  • Live in a participating RMHC Chapter's geographic area
  • Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline of the application
  • Meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined by each scholarship program
  • Provide verification of enrollment each year at respective accredited post-secondary institution

2017 GCPS Foundation Scholarships

The 2017 GCPS foundation scholarship Catalog will be online November 2016. The deadline for the scholarships managed by the GCPS Foundation is January 30, 2017. All scholarship deadlines are included in the scholarship information and clearly noted on each scholarship application. the Foundation awards scholarships to Gwinnett County Public School graduating seniors only. Winners will be announced May 2017.

The GCPS Foundation has proudly awarded over $250,000 in student scholarships to GCPS graduating seniors. Scholarships range in value from $300-6000. We will continue to add to the GCPS Foundation Catalog online as scholarships become available.

BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Their participation may be in any capacity, whether as a player, coach, or official.

Deadline: June 19, 2017
Amount of Reward: $500.00

The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently be involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.

GFB Foundation for Agriculture

 2017 Technical College Scholarship for Agriculture

The purpose of the GFB Foundation for Agriculture Technical College Scholarship For Agriculture is to assist outstanding students who plan to pursue a career focusing on agriculture from a technical school or program.

Scholarship Amount

The foundation will award ten scholarships of $1,000 each. Scholarship checks will be sent to the technical college as confirmed by the recipient and placed in their college account.

Application Qualifications 
To be eligible, applicant must
  1. Be a Georgia resident.
  2. Be majoring in an area of agriculture or agriculturally related field of study.
  3. Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a Georgia Accredited technical college during the 2017-2018 academic year.
  4. Have a minimum 2.8 GPA
Selection Process
A Scholarship Selection Committee will make selection of the final applicants.

Application Guidelines
All applications must be typed. Applications may be obtained from the county Farm Bureau office. A fillable pdf.file of the application form can be accessed at the GFB Foundation for Agriculture website, www.gfbfoundation.org

The application mus be approved and signed by the county Farm Bureau president where the application is being accepted before being submitted. (This may be in the county where the student resides OR the county where the student attends high school.)

  • Copy of your application
  • Copy of transcript
  • One letter of reference
The scholarship recipients will be required to submit a photo upon notification of being a scholarship recipient.

Notification
Notification of scholarship winners will be made by April 1, 2017. The scholarship checks will be distributed in the summer of 2017 upon confirmation by the student of their college and major area of study as listed in the criteria. Scholarship checks will be sent to the college as confirmed by the recipient and placed in their college account.
