Jayda Dionne Parker Scholarship Fund

The primary purpose of the Jayda Dione Parker Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance for college expenses for a deserving student who exemplifies Jayda’s attributes: hard work, benevolence and determination against all odds. This is a $1,000 scholarship of which $500 will be awarded for the fall semester of 2019. The remaining $500 will be awarded in December 2019 for the spring semester of 2020. To be considered for the scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year, the student must submit: 1) An application form; 2) Documentation of acceptance or enrollment in an accredited college or university; 3) Two Letters of recommendation; one from a teacher and another from a counselor, community leader or other adult who is not a family member; 4) An official academic transcript; and 5) A 500 word essay (750 words max) which describes how the applicant exemplifies Jayda Dionne Parker’s characteristics of hard work, caring and service to others and determination to succeed. The essay must include a statement of a major hurdle which was overcome, a summary of how the applicant was changed by the experience, and an assertion of how overcoming adversity influenced the applicant’s plans for the future. In preparing this essay, applicants are encouraged to visit www.jdpscholar.org to learn about Jayda Dionne Parker’s attributes and to include in their essay a specific statement of how their attributes exemplify Jayda’s character. Relatives of Jayda Dionne Parker Scholarship Fund, Inc. board members/and or relatives of Jayda Dionne Parker Scholarship Fund, Inc. committee members are ineligible to apply. The Jayda Dionne Parker Scholarship award must be used for tuition, fees required for enrollment or courserelated expenses, such as fees, books, supplies and equipment required for courses. Litner + Deganian 2019 College Scholarship Program

At Litner + Deganian, we understand the financial burdens associated with obtaining an education beyond high school. We are pleased to offer a $2,500 scholarship award to the winner of our annual scholarship contest. 2019 Scholarship Award – Stop Driving While Distracted Video

One applicant will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship for the 2019 fall semester. To apply for the 2019 Scholarship Program, applicants must submit an original video (no longer than 60 seconds) based on the theme below using the program submission form. Please submit a shared link to your video, uploaded to a cloud based platform (ex: Google Drive or Dropbox). YouTube or Vimeo videos will not be accepted. Please note, video submissions from finalists will be uploaded to the L+D YouTube channel.

Stop Driving While Distracted Video: Georgia now has a hands-free driving law, but every day we still see people with a phone in hand or doing something on their mounted phones. How do we get people to finally stop this dangerous activity? What ideas, tactics, or technologies will keep people from reaching for the phone when they are behind the wheel?
The winner will be announced here on the Litner + Deganian website scholarship page and notified by email by early May. Please note that the winner’s $2,500 scholarship award will be issued directly to a college or university financial aid office.

HACEMOS Scholarship Program

HACEMOS has established a scholarship program to assist children of Hispanic origin and children of active HACEMOS members who plan to continue their education in college. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
HACEMOS is AT&T’s Hispanic/Latino employee resource group with a national presence that is open to all AT&T employees. Our mission reflects in our motto: ¡Juntos hacemos más! Together we do more. The scholarships are provided through the HACEMOS Scholarship Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or disability.

Applicants to the HACEMOS Scholarship Program must:
  • Be of Hispanic heritage OR be a dependent* child of an active HACEMOS member (Chapter List here), age 25 and under, as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the member’s household or primarily supported by the member.
  • High school seniors, or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam or any other U.S. territory for the entire 2019-20 academic year.
  • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester in coursework leading to a degree.
  • Have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
  • Award information:
    • HACEMOS will determine the award distribution for each chapter and for the national scholarship award.
    • If selected as a recipient, students attending a two-year institution will receive a $1,500 award. Students attending a four-year institution will receive a $2,500 award.
    • Awards are not renewable, however students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
    • Awards are for undergraduate study only.
    Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
    • academic record
    • financial need
    • demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
    • work experience
    • statement of goals and aspirations
    • unusual personal or family circumstances
    • an online recommendation
    Financial need as demonstrated by Scholarship America must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.
    Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of HACEMOS play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
    Notification
    Applicants will be notified in mid May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
    Payment of Scholarships
    Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of HACEMOS. Payments made out to the college/university are scheduled to be sent to the recipient in one installment on August 1.
  • As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:
    • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken
    • Optional: Supplemental Financial Data Form, if applicable. This form is needed only if parents cannot submit data jointly on the electronic application.
    Also as part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf.
    Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.

Memorial Scholarship

Purpose

The Belli Scholarship honors the memory of John, Lynne and Nicole Belli by affording college tuition and expense monies to a diverse group of Gwinnett County high school graduates, particularly those with documented economic need who may not be identified, as academic or athletic leaders in their schools but possess the skills to be academically successful in college. The intent of this scholarship is to provide financial support for students who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend college.  

Scholarship Information

  • The Belli Scholarship will be awarded during the summer after high school graduation
  • Provides $5000 annually for college expenses including tuition, books and fees up to $20,000.
  • Renewable for up to four years of documented college coursework (must maintain a 2.0 college GPA)

Criteria

  • Students must apply in their senior year of high school
  • Students must receive a College Preparatory diploma at graduation
  • Top 10% of Senior Class NOT eligible
  • Students must have a 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA at time of high school graduation to receive the scholarship
  • Student must have TWO recommendation letters (ONE from two different CORE subject teachers) substantiating student’s ability to be successful in college level coursework.
  • Submit a one-page essay on your financial need, career goal and education plan as well as any extraordinary circumstances you have overcome to graduate from high school.
  • Economically disadvantaged students will be given priority in awarding this scholarship.  

Gwinnett County Public Schools will establish a selection committee each year and coordinate choosing appropriate recipients for scholarships.  Two high school counselors (minimum) must serve on this committee along with other members TBD.  Scholarships will be awarded after graduation upon confirmation of a 2.5 minimum high school GPA.   

Scholarships will be renewable up to four years ($20,000 total) providing recipients remain enrolled in college and maintain a cumulative 2.0 grade point average or above.  Recipients will request the $5000 from the Northeast Georgia Community Foundation with an official transcript from the previous year’s college coursework during the summer prior to each fall semester.  The scholarship money will be sent directly to the college or university of the recipient’s choice.  No money will ever be awarded directly to the recipient.

The Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association Honors Scholarship

The Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association High School Honors Scholarship is presented annually to high school women who are planning to attend an accredited four-year university that has 1 or more National Panhellenic Conference recognized sororities in the Fall immediately following presentation of the award.  Applicant must demonstrate scholastic excellence; possess proven leadership abilities; display community service involvement; and have excellent communication skills.
AWARD ELIGILBILTY
Female high school senior residing and attending a high school in the metro-Atlanta counties of CherokeeCobbDeKalbDouglasForsythFultonGwinnettHallPaulding or Rockdale.
Applicant must plan to attend an accredited four-year university that has 1 or more National Panhellenic Conference recognized sororities in the Fall immediately following presentation of the award.
Applicant will be evaluated in 5 categories – scholastic achievement, leadership skills, community involvement, essay and personal recommendations.
