Financial Aid Applications Available Now!
Prospective freshmen can apply for aid at Tech by completing three forms:
  1. Georgia Tech Application for Scholarships and Financial Aid
  2. CSS Profile
  3. FAFSA
Alumni Network Scholarships
Georgia Tech Alumni Networks are geographically based groups of Tech alumni in various cities and regions across the country. These networks provide scholarships to incoming Georgia Tech freshmen from their local area. The online application for these scholarships is due by January 25.

Chairman's Award, FIRST Dean's List Award, Woodie Flowers Award and Entrepreneurship Award Submissions open today, 11/14/13 at 12 pm (noon) ET

The Chairman's Award, the Woodie Flowers Award, and the Entrepreneurship Award must be submitted via STIMS: https://my.usfirst.org/stims/site.lasso. The Main or Alternate contact for your team must assign at least one (1) and up to four (4) student award submitters in FRC TIMS: https://my.usfirst.org/frc/tims/site.lasso.

The FIRST Dean's List Award must be submitted by the team's Main or Alternate contact through TIMS: https://my.usfirst.org/frc/tims/site.lasso.

FIRST Future Innovator Award sponsored by the Abbott Fund: Teams will be able to submit for the First Future Innovator Award sponsored by the Abbott Fund beginning 11/14/13 at 12 pm (noon) ET via: https://www.allthingspatent.com/maxidv4/ffia/. New this year, the winner of the FIRST Future Innovator Award will have a personal meeting with Dean Kamen!

Finance Reminder: The payment deadline for teams' initial regional or district events is Friday, 12/6/13. If you are planning on submitting a Purchase Order to secure your registration, please fax (603-206-2079) or email (ar@usfirst.org) it to our Finance Department as soon as possible. Securing your registration will ensure that your KoP is shipped to your Kickoff location.

Robot Transport Exemptions: If bringing your robot to a competition event presents your team with a substantial hardship - for example, if your team needs to travel a great distance or cross an ocean to get to your event - you may request a Robot Transport Exemption by sending an email to: frclogistics@usfirst.org.

In your request, please include as much detail as possible to support why an exemption is required. Please use the subject line: Robot Transport Exemption Request, Team XXXX, with your team number in place of "XXXX" in your email. Exemption requests must be submitted by Friday, 12/6/13.

Lights, Camera, Save!

KeyWorth Bank is partnering with the American Bankers Association in a national contest titled Lights, Camera, Save! starting November 1st through November 30, 2013.
This is an opportunity for students aged 13-18 to use video to explore the value of saving and inspire others to become lifelong savers.

Local winners will receive $500 or $250 and the school they attend will receive the equivalent.
National winners will receive $5,000, $2,500 or $1,000 toward their savings goal and their school will receive $1,500, $700 or $300.

  1. "Aspiring Pharmacy Technician" Scholarship Program. High school seniors have the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship. This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a pharmacology career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. The deadline for application is June 1, 2014.
  2. "Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship. This is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can visit this link http://www.fashion-schools.org/ and find the scholarship located at the bottom of the page. The deadline for this application is June 1, 2014.
  3. "Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship Program. This is the 3rd annual scholarship for AnimationCareerReview.com. High school seniors have the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship. This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Coca- Cola Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Hispanic students across the U.S. can apply online at  www.Coke-HSF.com for a chance to win a $20,000, a $10,000, or a $2,500 grand prize scholarship.  The application deadline is December 15, 2014.

This application process will include short-answer questions, a photo submission, online voting, and other criteria.

Debutante Cotillion & Scholarship Program

The Atalnta, GA Chapter of Ebony Angels Sorority, Inc. announces its 2014 Debutante Cotillion

Being a contestant in the Debutante Cotillion offers a number of opportunities. Contestants are exposed to a variety of cultural and educational events. Activities will begin in November 2013 and will conclude with the Debutante Cotillion on May 10, 2014.

The Debutante is also a fund raising initiative for the sorority. Through the fundraising efforts of the Debutante Cotillion, Ebony Angels Inc. is able to provide scholarships to each contestant.

In order for your daughter to be considered for selection as a Miss Debutante Contestant she must:
  • Be a high school junior or senior in May, 2014 attend College, Community College, Business, Cosmetology or Technical School immediately after high school graduation.
  • Have never been married; have or have no choldren; and not be an expectant mother during the 2013-2014 scholarship program timeframe (November 2013 - May 2014).
  • Have experienced no expulsions or out of school suspensions within the past year.
  • Have a 2.0 Cumulative GPA through the end of the school year prior to her participation in the scholarship program. If she is a senior, she must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA at the end of her junior year; if she is a junior, she must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA at the end of her sophomore year.
In order for your daughter to be considered for selection as a Precious Diamonds Contestant, she must:
  • Be between eight (8) and twelve (12) years of age during the 2013 - 2014 scholarship program timeframe (November 2013 - May 2014)
  • Have experienced no expulsions or out of school suspensions within the past year.

Emory University Scholars Program

Students interested in Emory University are invited to apply for the Emory University Scholars Program. Selected students will receive merit scholarships that range from partial to full-tuition scholarships, faculty advising, priority housing and course selection, stipends and summer reasearch, and an annual Fall Retreat.

The scholarship process (including Woodruff, Oxford, & Goizueta Scholarships) no longer requires a high school nomination, allowing any student to be considered for the scholarships. Apply to Emory on the Common Application by November 15th and complete the Menber Questions section requesting to be considered for The Emory University Scholars Program.

Scholarship Competition Kick-Off

The NAACP's ACT-S): Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics is a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. The ACT-SO program has monthly workshops in preparation for the local competition in early March, 2014. Gold medalists from the local county competitions go to the national competition to compete for scholarships and other prizes in July, 2014.

CURO Honors Scholarship
-Formerly known as the CURO Apprenticeship, the CURO Honors Scholarship os offered to a limited number of incoming first-year students each year.

-Students receive a $2000 stipend renewable for up to four years and access to one of the premiere academic Honors Programs in the nation.
