Gwinnett County Farm Bureau Scholarship for Agriculture


  • For students planning to attend a unit of The University System of Georgia or Berry College 
    • Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in agricultural and environmental sciences, family and consumer science, or a related agricultural field.

George W. Jenkins Scholarship- University of Miami


  • Provides full tuition, room and board, and a $2,050 stipend for a student to attend the University of Miami. 
  • Eligibility
    • Residency and graduation from somewhere in GA, FL, AL, SC, or TN
    • Have a GPA of 3.75 or higher 
    • Participation in school or community activities, a strong work ethic, and a history of overcoming significant adversity. 
    • High financial need
  • Application
    • Complete an application for Undergraduate Admission at miami.edu/apply
    • Complete an essay from the student addressing all of the following points in 500 words or less with significant emphasis on the third point-
      • Explain why you wish to attend the University of Miami
      • Describe how receiving the Jenkins Scholarship would impact your life
      • Describe any special circumstances,  specifically any history of overcoming significant adversity
    • Form to be completed by your counselor. 
    • Form and essay must be submitted to miami.edu/jenkins
    • Submit the 2015-16 CSS financial profile at profileonline.collegeboard.org by Dec. 1, and the FAFSA at fafsa.gov by Feb. 1.
  • These must be submitted by Dec. 1.

Colored Rocks Prize


  • For colored male students attending any GA high school
  • Must apply at www.coloredrocks.org and submit an essay that describes why they believe they are a Colored Rock as well as a plan to help develop future Colored Rocks. Essays must be between 500-1000 words and the plan must be executed before graduation. 
  • Deadline to apply is December 6, 2014.
  • Awards range from $50 to $3,500.

Prudential Spirit of Community


  • Celebrates the spirit of volunteerism in youth. Must be active in volunteering in the community.
