One hundred scholarships, ranging from $3,000 to $8,000 per year up to four years of college undergraduate study, are awarded to academically talented legal dependents of eligible State Farm associates, agents and retirees every year. PROGRAM OVERVIEW
· Seniors in high schools throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply each year for one of 250 four-year, achievement-based scholarships.
· Approximately 2,200 applicants will be selected as Semifinalists and notified by mail and email around December 1. Semifinalists must then complete a secondary application, including essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Semifinalist applications are due by mid-January. Our Program Review Committee will select 250 Finalists to advance to the final interview phase. Notifications are sent mid-February.
· In April, the 250 Finalists are invited to Atlanta for personal interviews. Best Buy Scholarship, sponsored by the Best Buy Children's Foundation, is open to students currently in grades 9-12 living in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, who are planning to attend an accredited U.S. or Puerto Rico college or vocational school after high school graduation. Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate commitment to and involvement in community volunteer service or work experience. The ICMA-RC Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to the surviving children and spouses of US city, county, and state public employees* who have died in service to their communities. Applicants must enroll in and attend an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school on a full-time basis. High school seniors, undergraduates and graduate students are eligible to apply.
*Students must provide a letter from the deceased employee’s place of work verifying his or her employment at time of death.

Nominees for the MathMovesU Grants for Teachers and Schools: Math Hero Award Program, sponsored by Raytheon Company, must be full-time teachers who are currently employed and teaching a mathematics curriculum at a middle school or high school in the United States OR volunteers working with an approved math-related nonprofit organization (i.e. MATHCOUNTS®). MathMovesU Middle School Scholarship and Grant Program, sponsored by Raytheon Company is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Students will create a paper or multimedia submission that answers: “How does Math put the Action in Your Passion?” Students must demonstrate an enthusiasm for math and the ability to illustrate the importance of math in the hobby/sport/subject/activity the student cares about the most. Up to 150 awards of $1,000 each will be granted to student recipients to be used for a campership or scholarship. The New York Chapter of the American Logistics Association sponsors up to ten $5,000 scholarships for dependent children of active duty, reserve, National Guard or retired members of the United States military who hold valid Exchange & Commissary shopping privileges at the time of application. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll for the first time in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in fall, 2013. The National Hydropower Association Past Presidents' Legacy Scholarship Program, sponsored by the National Hydropower Association, is open to current college sophomores or juniors who will be juniors or seniors beginning fall 2011; or graduate students; with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent), who are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university. The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship Program was established to provide financial assistance to high school seniors who plan to attend college, technical, or vocational school, but may not be able to meet the expenses of a higher education without such aid and often do not qualify for other scholarships. 37. Dr Pepper Million Dollar Tuition Giveaway Promotion and Contest
Opening August 2012
Dr Pepper sponsored a nationwide promotion for the 2011 college football season in which they gave away $1,000,000 in tuition assistance.
The promotion is open to anyone over the age of 18. Entrants submit a one-minute video explaining how they would make an impact in their life, their community, or the world if they won free tuition from Dr Pepper. Throughout the football season over 60 students will be awarded $2,500 in tuition assistance from Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper will also select an additional 25 grand prize winners who will be invited to attend with one guest one of five end-of-season football games to compete in a contest at halftime. Selection of these grand prize winners will be limited to students under the age of 25. The students will be given a chance to throw for $100,000 in tuition during the halftime of the game. The winner will walk-away with $100,000 in tuition and the runner-up will receive $23,000.
