My name is Norman Richards and i'm the Director of Recruitment here at Concordia College Alabama in historical Selma, Alabama. We are excited about your 2018 Senior Class and our Office of Admissions and Recruitment recognize the importance of the counselor's role in a  student's college search process. Because of your dedication, you make our job that much easier. In return, We hope to make the work you do as simple as possible. Below is a list of our total cost and requirements for acceptance and scholarships.
  • Total cost of our college is $17,000 a year ( no out of state tuition fee)
  • Minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 on their final high school transcript to be accepted
  • Our institutional scholarship starts at a 2.5 GPA. For example, if your students have a 3.0 GPA and a 18 ACT or 860 SAT, they will qualify for $5000 in Scholarships.
  • Concordia College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and schools Commission on colleges ( SACSCOC ) to award associates and bachelors degree.
Your student can apply online at www.ccal.edu by clicking on " Apply Now" and the application fee will be waived. Also, please email a copy of the students transcript who applied to admissions@ccal.edu and I will get them accepted today. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Scholarship Detail
  • Knowledge Aid is committed to improving the world through new ideas and educational opportunity. We care deeply about assembling a global community of scholars that represent  the widest possible range of view points, not the least of which are the perspectives of students fleeing persecution and conflict in their home countries. To this end, the knowledge Aid Hands up Scholarships was establish to accomplish just that.

  • The Hands Up Scholarships covers all costs of attendance and is awarded annually to first generation refugee students from war-torn nation who would not otherwise have the financial means to attend an institute of Higher Education. The scholarship is only available for undergraduate studies.



Deadline
  • The application deadline for Hands Up Scholarship is January 1, and applicants are encouraged to apply by submitting the information below. All applicants will receive notice of their standing by April 1.

The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program

It's not too late for your students to apply to the Eugene McDermott Scholars at UT Dallas.

The Scholarship includes:

  • Tuition and fees.
  • Book stipends.
  • $1,400 stipends each month of the year.
  • Up to $12,000 to study abroad.
  • Up to $3,000 for career-oriented support.
  • Cohort travel to Santa Fe, NM; Austin, TX; And Washington D.C.
  • Network of professional staff, faculty, alumni and cohorts.
The award provides on essentially debt-free college education with benefits valued at more than $250,000 (out-of-state) or $150,000 (in-state) over the four-year term.

Deadlines: Nov. 2,2017 (early) or Jan. 3,2018 (final).

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1450 or higher on the old-style-parts SAT (verbal and math) or
  • 1490 or higher on the new-style-two-part SAT (verbal and math) or 
  • 33 or higher on the ACT
  • first-time college freshman 
  • AP, IB, CLEP, and Dual-Credit acceptable
  • current UT Dallas students or Transfer students not eligible
All McDermott Scholars applicants must apply to UT Dallas before Wednesday, January 3, 
2018.

Additional Considerations
  • A class rank in the top five percent of their graduating class
  • long records of leadership in school and community volunteerism
  • broad and eclectic interests in science, literature, and the arts
  • social skills to interact easily with adults as well as peers
Students who meet these qualifications have a stronger chance of being invited to McDermott Finalists Weekend.
The program welcomes all majors. Applications are accepted from across Texas, the U.S., and the world.

Student Applicants - steps to get started

The application of the 2018 entering class of McDermott Scholars is now available.
1. Make sure you meet the minimum qualifications.

2. Review and note important dates and deadlines

3. Begin the application process by setting up an online account.

4. Input three recommenders - include name. recommender type, and email address.
- After logging into the online applications, the recommendation link can be found on the left-side navigation labeled " McDermott Scholars recommendations".
 
- Three online recommendations must be submitted including one counselor and two other recommenders. see below for more recommendation information.

 5. Mail your transcript only if your counselor is unable to upload one via their online recommendation; the transcript will need to be sent to the McDermott Scholars office. See below for more transcript information.

6.Complete and submit all parts of the McDermott student application.

 - We encourage you to submit your student application even if all recommendations and transcripts are not yet processed.

7. Complete the UT Dallas application process before Wednesday, January 3,2018.

 - Note: The McDermott Scholars program application and the UT Dallas' Office of Administration and Enrollment do not share transcripts or other documents. each application process is independent from the other.

        - A high school transcript
  • Required fields within the application are marked with and asterisk
  • All answers should be provided in English and basic letters and numbers. We cannot process foreign language and symbols.
  • As you complete each section of the application, be sure to save your work before moving on to the next section. you may want to consider typing the essays in a word processor and then copying them into the 1000 max character boxes.
  • Proofread to portray yourself in the best possible light.
  • If Counselor is unable to upload a transcript, it is the applicants responsability to send an official high school transcript to the McDermott Scholars Program Office:

The Elizabeth Kiss Trailblazer Scholarship

New scholarship available at Agnes Scott College for high school seniors

In honor of our eighth college president Dr. Elizabeth Kiss- the founder of our SUMMIT global learning and leadership development curriculum- this year, we are please to begin offering the Elizabeth Kiss Trailblazer Scholarship, a renewable $25,000 per-year scholarship for incoming students who qualify. 

A student must:

  • complete an application for admission to Agnes Scott (no separate application for Trailblazer Scholarship is necessary) before our Jan. 15 Early Action II deadline
  • have a cumulative 3.75/ 4.0 GPA as reported by her high school OR,
  • have a 1250 SAT or 26 ACT score

You have the opportunity to make an education at the university of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research university, even more affordable for a student from Duluth high school.

Must speak to your counselor if you with to me nominated

Graduating senior with a passion for personal development and a commitment to service to be a leadership in Service Scholarship recipient from your school. For students admitted to UD, worth $10,000 ($2,500 per year for four years). The students selected will also be eligible to receive a University of Dayton merit scholarship, which can be worth up to $88,000 over four years.

National Awards Program Seeking Georgia's Top Youth Volunteers Of 2018

The Prudential spirit of community awards will grant two Georgia honorees with $1,000, a medallion and an all- expanse- paid trip to Washington, D.C.

How to apply:

  • Students complete an online application by November 7, 2018 
  • Application is available at:  http://spirit.prudential.com and www.nassp.org/spirit
  • Then, students submit the application for certification to their principal or head of local participating organization
  • certifiers review all application for their school or organization, then select a Local Honoree to nominate for state-level judging by November 17, 2017
Who is eligible:
       Any student who:
    • Is in grades 5-12 as of November 7, 2017 and is a legal resident of one of the 50 states or the district of Columbia
    • has engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred at least in part after September 1, 2016
    • Completes an application and submits it to a school principal or the head of an officially designated local organization by November 7, 2017
Applicants must submit completed applications to one of the following: 
  • middle level or high school
  • girl scout council
  • county 4-H organization
  • An American Red Cross Chapter
  • A YMCA
  • An Affiliate of Points of Light's HandsOn Network

Mercer University School of Engineering Scholarship Challenge

The mercer University School of Engineering is pleased to once again invite seniors from your school to apply for our annual scholarship Challenge at our Macon, Georgia campus on Saturday, November 11, 2017. We plan to award valuable scholarships this fall to high school seniors who are interested in Mercer's engineering, industrial management and technical communications program. The Scholarship Challenge is a day where we meet with these students to show them our campus, our labs and technology, and give them an opportunity to meet with our faculty and students. We use a design problem or a test of math skills to help us make scholarship recommendations. Students do not have to have applied to Mercer- This event is open to any high school seniors!

Students must go to the website and apply for the November 11 event. Student application: http://engineering.mercer.edu/scholarship 

Students will fill in a short web form with their contact information and some background on there academic interests. We ask applicants to share with us a teacher or counselor name and email address.

We would appreciate having students' application by October 30th. We expect to offer our scholarships before Christmas.
