One way we plan to help is by assisting high school students in their journey to becoming great by providing the scholarships listed below to two qualifying students.

The winner in this category will be awarded a one-time award of $1000.00 during the fall semester.

I Want to be a Nurse Scholarship

Nursing is more than a career path, it is the essence of mind, body, soul. kindness, compassion and love that makes it unique among all other professions. A nurse embodies care that is holistic in its approach. In no more than 750 words, tell us why you want to become a nurse. The winner will receive a one-time award of $500.00 biannually.

Criteria

SWM is a local non-profit organization providing scholarships to high school seniors who are without their mothers due to death or other unfortunate circumstances. Scholarships are $4,000 each, distributed in annual payments of $1,000.

For qualifying criteria and applications, please visit our website: www.studentswithoutmothers.org or call our office at 404-250-3232.

Applications are being accepted from now through December 31st from current high school juniors (graduating May 2018) and seniors (graduating May 2017). The seniors will receive their scholarships in June 2017 and the Juniors in June 2018.

In addition to scholarship support our program provides each sccholarship recipient with a laptop computer and the services of a volunteer Life Coach.

Our goal is to empower students to help themselves!

Past scholarship support

Since the organization was founded in 2004, SWM has awarded $4,000 scholarships to 60 students. The number of scholarships awarded each year is determined by annual fundraising projections.

If you know a student who is without his/her mother and may qualify for a scholarship, please encourage them to apply. We can never replace someone's mother but we CAN help!
