NAHJ Atlanta Scholarship

The inaugural NAHJ Atlanta Scholarship will be presented to incoming Latino college freshmen working to pursue a degree in journalism (online, print, broadcast or communications). Candidates should showcase their involvement in their community and display a willingness and alacrity to continue to give back. Applicants should also have a demonstrated need for financial assistance. Those selected for this scholarship will exemplify the core principal standards and ethics of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
We would like the students applying to write a 1,000 word (or less) essay
on:
Why is journalism important to you and why is it relevant to the Latino community in Georgia?
We have $2,000 available in partnership with the CNN Diversity
Council.
The essay is due by June 15th, 2012.
