Qualifications:
Must be a Gwinnett County Public School senior
Of African American decent
Must already be accepted to an accredited four-year college or university
Must possess leadership potential and discernible good character
Must demonstrate superior scholastic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)
Scholarship selection:
1. A completed application. It is imperative that the application be completed in full
2. A one-page double spaced personal statement summarizing why the applicant should be awarded the HBCU Scholarship and how the scholarship will help him/her pursue his/her career ambition. Be sure to include community service activities in the statement.
3. A sealed copy of the applicant's transcripts.
4. Two sealed letters of recommendation from any combination of teachers, counselors, employers, school administrators, or ministers.
5. Proof of acceptance into an accredited four-year college or university.
