Applying for our scholarships is easy! Our online application process will pair you with the scholarships you are eligible for and you can apply for as many scholarships for which you meet the eligibility criteria.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION CALENDAR
Jan. 15: New applications are available at 9:00a.m. on our online portal

March 15: Deadline at 5:00 p.m. to submit most applications to NGCF. Be sure to check specific scholarship deadlines as they can vary per award.

March-May: Scholarship committees meet to review applications

May: Current scholarship recipients are notified to complete paperwork for scholarship renewal

May-June: Scholarship awards are announced to applicants

June: Scholarship award recipients complete required paperwork to accept award

July: Scholarship payments are mailed directly to recipients’ schools

COMPLETING APPLICATIONS
Before starting an application, you must register on our web portal and select ‘Scholarship Applicant’ from the portal access list. Most of our scholarships use the same common application. To access most scholarship applications, you must first complete the ‘common application’. Your answers to these questions will pair you with the scholarships you are eligible for. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, you will have the opportunity to select the individual scholarships for which you would like to apply at the end of the application.

Each scholarship fund has additional required questions or attachments. You must complete and submit the addendum page for each scholarship for which you apply
Applications may be completed in a single sitting or saved as a draft and finished later by selecting ‘My Saved Applications’
Save your draft applications regularly as you work!
You will be required to upload documents to your application. Please upload PDFs of any required attachments
Applications are not ready to submit until all required questions/fields have been completed and all required attachments have been uploaded.

'547' John E. McGlamry Memorial ScholarshipThe “547” John E. McGlamry Memorial Scholarship Fund was established at the North Georgia Community Foundation in 2012 to honor the life and career of Georgia State Trooper John E. McGlamry. Trooper McGlamry served the State of Georgia for 25 years and did so with unwavering principles. As such, he left a lasting impact on the communities he served, his peers, and his family.The scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who are the children of active or retired Georgia State Troopers. Recipients of the scholarship are selected on merit and their response to an essay on “wisdom, justice and moderation. The scholarship will be awarded for $1,750 and is a one-time award.

Jenny Melton ScholarshipThe Jenny Melton Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 in Jenny’s memory by her family and friends. Jenny, a West Hall High School athlete and honor student, tragically lost her life on March 19, 2002 in a single car accident on her way to school. This scholarship will award a $2,500 scholarship a total of three scholarships: a graduating senior from West Hall High School, a graduating senior from Cherokee Bluff High School and for a child whose parent is a member of IAEE Atlanta SE Chapter. ​ 

TD Automotive Compressor Georgia (TACG) Family ScholarshipThe TD Automotive Compressor Georgia (TACG) Family Scholarship was established at the North Georgia Community Foundation to provide a $1,500 scholarship to graduating seniors of TACG Associates’ family members. Family members are defined as children and grandchildren (including step). Applicants must be graduating high school seniors with a 2.5 minimum GPA who are pursuing an undergraduate degree full-time at an accredited U.S. institution.Charles Black Construction Company, Inc. ScholarshipFor graduating seniors from various public high schools.  Eligible high schools are determined each year.

Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America (TICA) Family ScholarshipThe Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America (TICA) Family Scholarship was established at the North Georgia Community Foundation to provide a $1,500 scholarship to graduating seniors of TICA Associates’ family members. Family members are defined as children and grandchildren (including step). Applicants must be graduating high school seniors with a 2.5 minimum GPA who are pursuing an undergraduate degree full-time at an accredited U.S. institution.

The Energizes Others ScholarshipThe Energizes Others Scholarship Fund was established in October 2017 to provide a scholarship opportunity to a current employee, or child or grandchild of a current employee of the AutoZone Lavonia Distribution Center. The recipient may be a high school senior, a GED Graduate, they could be currently enrolled in school, and could be attending school on a part-time basis. A combination of both GPA, Financial Need, and extra-curricular/community activities will be considered when making the recipient decision.  One scholarship for $2,500 will be awarded.

Coleman, Chambers & Rogers ScholarshipThe Coleman, Chambers & Rogers Scholarship was established at the North Georgia Community Foundation in 2014 to provide competitive scholarships to current and active members of the Hall County Board of Realtors and their family members. Family members are defined spouses, children, and grandchildren (including step). Applicants may be graduating high school seniors or students currently enrolled in college or vocational school. This scholarship awards one $1,000 each year.

You're The Reason Scholarship
The You’re the Reason Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 by employees of the City of Gainesville who give annually to the Community Trust Fund.One scholarship valued at up to $1000.00 is available to graduating seniors whose parent is employed by the City of Gainesville government. Funding for the scholarship comes from sponsors of the Spring Chicken Festival, Georgia’s official chicken cook-off, held in April each year in Downtown Gainesville. Additional scholarships are awarded, funded by the Community Trust Fund.The student must be planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in fall 2017. Applicants can be eligible to attend a two-year college or four-year university.Gainesville 

Spring Chicken ScholarshipThe City of Gainesville and the local poultry industry recognize the need for outstanding young men and women to continue the city’s legacy as the “Poultry Capital of the World.” The Gainesville Spring Chicken Scholarship supports college students pursuing a degree in poultry science or a related agricultural degree.Funding for the scholarship comes from sponsors of the Spring Chicken Festival, Georgia’s official chicken cook-off, held in April each year in Downtown Gainesville.  Applicants should be graduating high school senior or current college students pursuing a career in the poultry industry, majoring in Agricultural Business, Poultry Science, Food Science, Animal Science, Food Marketing, Agricultural Economics, etc. They must be a resident of the State of Georgia with a minimum GPA of 3.0. One award of $1,000 will be given.
