The James M. & Erma T. Freemont Foundation Scholarship Program 

The Freemont Foundation Program is available to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate student. Through generous donations, the Foundation is able to provide scholarships to outstanding students. It is the duty of our dedicated Board of Directors to determine the most outstanding individuals to receive these awards. 

Freemont Scholars are selected from a nationwide pool of applicants. The Freemont Foundation will award scholarships to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students with a record of leadership and volunteerism in the community and participation in extracurricular school activities. 

Applications and all supporting documents must be postmarked February 2, 2018. Late applications and supporting documents will not be accepted.

Winners will be announced in April 2018.

High School Seniors
  • Must complete high school in the spring of 2018
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend an accredited HBCU ( HBCU is defined as historically black college and universities) 
  • Must have minimum SAT score of 1150 or ACT score of 21
  • Must be a united states citizen
  • Must intend on pursuing an undergraduate degree in science
  • Must plan to matriculate at accredited HBCU for the fall 2018/spring 2019 academic year
  • Must have the endorsement of their guidance counselor, submit two letters of recommendation and an official transcript
  • Must complete essay. 
Undergraduate Students
  • Must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program in the United States for the fall 2018/ spring 2019 academic year
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0(on a 4.0 scale)
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must be pursuing a graduate degree in the sciences
  • Must submit two letters of recommendation and the most recent official transcript
  • Must complete an essay 
Graduate Students 
  • Must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program in the United States for  the fall 2018/spring 2019 academic year
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a scale of 4.0)
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must be pursuing a graduate degree in the health and medical sciences
  • Must submit two letters of recommendation  and the most recent official transcript
  • Must complete essay
