SCAD Distinguished Scholars Award

The SCAD Distinguished Scholars Award is a prestigious scholarship in the amount of US$20,000 per year. To be considered, students must be recommended by a teacher, professor or school counselor. This scholarship is applicable toward tuition to attend SCAd in Atlanta, Hong Kong, Savannah or online via eLearning, and may be renewed annually, provided the recipient is enrolled and maintains a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Teacher/counselor nominations and students' completed application files (including transcript, official test scores and portfolio) must be received by Feb. 15, 2014. Students must meet or exceed the following:
  • Minimum 1220 SAT combined math and critical reading score, or ACT composite score of at least 27
  • GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale
  • Outstanding visual arts, performing arts, writing or riding capabilities
  • Honors and awards from competitions, or other recognition
  • Leadership skills demonstrated through co-curricular or extracurricular involvement
To nominate a student, email the following information before Feb. 15 to nomination@scad.edu:
  • Student's name
  • School name, city and state
  • Your name and position
  • Brief statement (100 words or less) explaining why you are nominating the student to receive a SCAD Distinguished Scholars Award
To be considered, nominee must complete all SCAD admission requirements prior to Feb. 15, 2014. Students should apply online at scad.edu/apply. Questions reqarding this scholarship and other financial assistance may be directed to the SCAD admission department at admission@scad.edu.
