 Criteria

1.    A completed application. It is imperative that the application be completed in full.

2.    A one-page double-spaced (typed) personal statement summarizing why the applicant should be awarded the Beauty P. Baldwin Scholarship and how the scholarship will help him/her pursue his/her career ambition. Be sure to include community service activities in the statement.

3.    A sealed copy of the applicant’s transcript.

4.    Two sealed letters of recommendation from any combination of teachers, counselors, employers, school administrators or ministers.

WOC provides financial assistance to an outstanding male or female African- American students residing in the united states who plan to attend an accredited four- year college or university of their choice within the US. In addition to excelling in the classroom, these individuals are leaders in the community who exemplify the values of volunteerism and service.

WOC recognizes the importance of education in the lives of children and the commitment to serve those less fortunate. we are delighted to provide this year's scholarship in the amount of $2,500.00 to the high school senior who reflects these same high standards and has at least a 2.5 GPA. As we give to promote the individual's educational opportunities, we hope that he/she will see fit to lead his/her life in a way that will eventually give something positive back to the community.

Educator's Scholarship

The Beta Rho Chapter of Delta kappa Gamma Society International of Women Educators awards one scholarship in the amount of $1500 to one high school student who plans to pursue a degree in education. The scholarship applicants should be a high school student interested in entering the teaching profession.

The scholarships will be one time only for the value of $1500

Application process                                                     

1. applicants must provide a high school transcript, SAT scores, class rank, and grade point average
2. applicants must submit an essay on why they desire to go into teaching. The essay should be limited to 2 page double- spaced
3. one letter of recommendation must accompany the application when it is submitted. The letter should be from some one who knows the applicant well.
4. honors and awards, extracurricular activities, and community/ church service will be a consideration
5. if possible, a photograph should be attached. this is NOT required

Goal: 

- In honor of Terrance Dykes, the goal is to award a graduating High School student that has actively participated in their high school Jr. ROTC program with the named above scholarship to assist with financial responsibilities at a school or higher learning.

Award Amount:

 - Maximum $1,000

Award Criteria:

1. student must complete High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA, submit official high school transcript
2. submit recommendation letter from high school Jr. ROTC instructor , which must include the number of years of active participation in schools Jr. ROTC program.
3. student must provide documentation of acceptance into college/university ROTC program

Award Timeline:

-Award criteria documentation must be submitted no later than April 7

Award payout: Award will be paid by June 15 or sooner after eligibility requirements are verified and official documentation of acceptance to school or higher learning had been submitted.

Scales of justice scholarship

ELIGIBILITY:  High school seniors and senior level home school students who are residents of Fulton, DaKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Clayton counties.

COMPETITION GUIDELINES: participating students are asked to write an original and creative essay of 1,000 word or less regarding the following topic
               There has been considerable recent news about the nomination of judges to the federal court by the President and the process of approval by congress. Discuss the pros and cons of the process and the most important factors to consider in approving a judge such as the judge's background, work history, politics, individual beliefs, heritage, and rulings.

REQUIREMENTS:

• entries from the 2018 contest will be accepted starting February 12, 2018
• submission deadline is march 12, 2018
• essays can be no more than 1,000 words
• submissions must be the original work of the student
