Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship

About The Program

Since 1994, Wendy's Restaurants have teamed up with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee to create the Wendy's High School Heisman Program. The program honors male and female high school seniors who excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership, and gives them an opportunity to earn a scholarship. Criteria for Application

• Students whose senior year of high school is the 2017-18 academic year, graduating with the class of 2018.
• Students who have at least a "B" average (3.0 GPA) during grades 9,10, and 11.
• Students who participate in at least one of 47 Wendy's High School Heisman recognized sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee or the National Federation of State High School Associations.
• Students who have participated in volunteer service, community involvement, or leadership within his/her school or community.

The Application Process

1. A student may begin the application process by selecting Register Now from the "Home" tab.
2. Students will enter their email address and be prompted to provide some basic account information and create a username and password for their application.
3. If deemed eligible, students should then select "Begin Application" to complete the rest of the student profile section.
4. Once a complete profile is created, the student's unique application ID will appear at the top of his/her application by their name. It is important to retain this number for prospective customer service inquires.
5. Eligible students may then continue to fill out Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the application. Phase 1 of the application is scored by Scholarship America to determine School Winners through State Winners. Phase 2 consists of essay questions and supporting information and must be completed by all State Winners. Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined will help the national committee determine both our 10 National Finalists and 2 National Winners.
6. Phase 1 of the application consists of the blue tabs: Profile, School, Academics, Athletic Activities, School Activities, Community Involvement, Reviewer, Phase 1 Certification, and Phase 1 Submit. Phase 1 of the application is required to be reviewed and accepted by a school official.
7. Phase 2 of the application consists of the red tabs: Essay Questions, Supporting Information, Phase 2 Certification, and Phase 2 Submit. Phase 2 of the application will not be submitted for review by a school official. Once Phase 2 of the application is completed and submitted no further action is required for Phase 2.
8. Students may navigate the various sections of the application using tabs located at the top of the application after the student profile is created. If the student misses a required section, he/she will receive an error message and will not be able to submit their application until the required information is entered.
9. Students must provide an accurate email address of the school official who will login to review Phase 1 of the application and its contents and confirm its accuracy. This school official cannot be related nor a parent/guardian of the student.
10. Students may login to their accounts as often as needed prior to the Phase 1 and Phase 2 deadlines, or until their application has been submitted. Students will need to retain their username and password to login again.
11. After Phase 1 is submitted or after the Phase 1 deadline of October 2, students will not be able to access Phase 1 of the application. Phase 2 of the application will remain open until Phase 2 is submitted or until the Phase 2 deadline of October 23.

Deadlines

• We encourage students to submit Phase 1 of the application as early as possible to allow time for the school official to review it for accuracy.
• Phase 1 of the application must be submitted no later than October 2, 2017 at 3pm PT/6pm ET.
• Phase 1 of the application must be reviewed and submitted by the school official listed in the application by October 4, 2017 at 3pm PT/6pm ET.
• Phase 2 of the application must be submitted no later than October 23, 2017 at 3pm PT/6pm ET.

Important Reminders

• Students must retain their username and password until October.
• The application should be saved frequently while logged in.
• Students and reviewers are encouraged to log out whenever they leave the computer.
• Be assured: students and reviewers personal, private information will not be shared with anyone outside of the Wendy's High School Heisman and selection committee.
• Security concerns may prevent the use of bookmarks to return to pages within the application. It is recommended however, that students and reviewers bookmark the main website.
• Results will be posted online at wendyshighschoolheisman.com
