TheDream.US Scholarship

TheDream.US Opportunity Scholarship Program is offering a scholarship for up to $80,000 over four years. This $20,000 per year scholarship will help cover fees, tuition, on-campus housing and meals. This scholarship is available to high school seniors or graduates who seek to earn a bachelor's degree at Eastern Connecticut State University or Delaware State University.

To be eligible to apply, you must:

• live in and have graduated from a high school in a targeted locked-out state
• have a GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• must have taken the SAT or ACT
• not currently enrolled in college
• intend to relocate to and enroll full-time in a bachelor's degree program at Eastern Connecticut State University or Delaware State University in the Fall term of 2016-2017 school year
• demonstrate financial need

Wofford Scholarship

Wofford is announcing its 68th annual Wofford Scholars Program, in which qualified candidates are eligible to compete for scholarships ranging from $3,000 per year up to full scholarship, valued at approximately $45,000 per year.

Current juniors must be nominated, deadline for nominations is June 15, 2016. 

Criteria for nominations are:

• students must rank in the top 10% of the class
• Minimum score of 1250 (critical reading and math combined) on the PSAT or SAT, or 28 composite score on the PLAN or ACT
• must demonstrate qualities of scholarship, leadership, and potential for success
• all students nominated must apply to either the Wofford Early Decision or Early Action deadline

Aspiring Business Professional

OMBAR is offering one $1000 "Aspiring Business Professional" Scholarship to to a high school senior who:

• intends to pursue a business related field at an accredited post-secondary school or college
• has a demonstrable record of academic success
• has a passion and drive for a business career

Applicants must submit an application and a 500-1000 word essay on the following topic: 

Why is the formal study of business and its related fields important?

• Awards one $500 scholarship

To be eligible a student must:

• be between ages of 14-25 who will be attending school in the Fall of 2016
• High School students enrolled by September 2016 are considered eligible

Mark A. Forester Scholarship

• Awards one $1,000 scholarship

Eligible to:

• any student who is currently enrolled in an accredited American university or college, or will be enrolled for Fall/Summer semester of 2016

To enter, students must:

• write a 500-500-word essay explaining how they go about honoring America's military heroes

LGMD Awareness Scholarship

• Awards four $3,000 scholarships
• Designed to rewards students who teach others about Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophies (LGMDs)
• Two scholarship categories- merit based and social media based
• Scholarship money can be used for tuition, books, and equipment required for education courses

Paradigm Challenge Scholarship

• Awards one hundred $100,000 scholarships

To be eligible a student must

• be a legal resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, or
• are United States citizen with a permanent US address and are currently residing on an overseas US military installation
• be aged 7-18 years old as of May 1, 2015
• have parents'/legal guardians' permission to participate
