Given in honor of past and present Board members and employess who have served Peach State for 20 years or more. These nine $2,500 scholarships will be awarded in May to high school seniors who will be attending college to pursue a degree in education and plan to return to Georgia to teach.

Metro Atlanta Relocation Council 2014 Scholarship
A one-time award of $1,500 will be presented to an Atlanta area high school senior this year (Residence eligibility is defined as a senior attending a provate or public school in any city or county district within Cobb, Fulton, Dekalb, or Gwinnett Counties as well as any county immediately bordering these counties).
The award will be sent directly to the college that the student will be attending to assist with tuition, etc.

- Please list (on a separate sheet) all your extra-curricular activites & work experience during high school.
- Please write an essay telling us about your experiences associated with your relocation into the Atlanta area. Please feel free to discuss:
- your family background,
- reasons for the relocation,
- the challenges encountered with the relocation,
- the successes you achieved.
- importantly, please feel free to include and advice that you would give to another teenager preparing to relocate (as you did)!

Named for the founder of the Credit Union, the Vernon E. Carne scholarship focuses on a short essay of 250 words or less. Armstrong Atlantic State University
Armstrong Atlantic State University is looking for high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in science or mathematics at our institution.
The College of Science and Technology (CST) at Armstrong was awarded a $1,000,000 grant from the NAtional Science Foundation Science Talent Expansion Program (NSF-STEP) in 2009 to provide summer research fellowships for incoming freshmen students. These STEP scholars conduct 6 weeks of research in the summer before their first year at Armstrong.
Students selected as STEP scholars would be required to live on campus for 6 weeks from June 16-July 25, 2014 free of charge (5 meals per week are included) and will be paid a stipend of $300 each week. STEP scholars will attend an intensive mathematics program (no course credit) that will help to prepare them for college-level mathematics.

Kids Who Care Award
The Kids Who Care Award is given to five outstanding students in grades 9-12 who have an exceptional commitment to volunteerism. The winners receive a $1,100 scholarship and are recognized on 11Alive. The deadline for submission is February 15, 2014.
SCAD Distinguished Scholars Award
The SCAD Distinguished Scholars Award is a prestigious scholarship in the amount of US$20,000 per year. To be considered, students must be recommended by a teacher, professor or school counselor. This scholarship is applicable toward tuition to attend SCAd in Atlanta, Hong Kong, Savannah or online via eLearning, and may be renewed annually, provided the recipient is enrolled and maintains a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.
